Velindre’s Castle2Castle Run
This year our chosen charity to sponsor was Velindre Cancer Centre. Velindre is Wales’ premier Cancer Centre, providing care, support and treatment to 1.5 million people in South East Wales and beyond. They aim to provide the best care to patients and their families when they need them most.
This year we thought it would be an amazing idea to be the main sponsors of their annual Castle2Castle run. The 11 mile fun run from Caerphilly Castle to Cardiff Castle took place on Sunday 8th September and helped raise vital funds for Velindre Cancer Centre.
We were extremely proud to be the main sponsors of such a special event and it was amazing to see so many people come together and support Velindre’s patients and families.
We’d like to thank everyone who helped and took part in the Castle2Castle run – it was a very special day we’ll never forget!
Overall the Castle2Castle run raised a phenomenal £33,500 with donations still coming in! This years event was the most successful one yet and we couldn’t be happier. This money raised will allow Velindre to to support projects over and above those provided by the NHS including ground breaking research, specialist equipment, nurses and staff training.
