Castle Dairies Win Gold at ICDA 2023
We are pleased to announce that we were recipients of two gold medals at the International Cheese and Dairy Awards 2023. In the show’s 127th edition taking place at Staffordshire County Showground, both salted and unsalted variants of our Welsh block butters came away with the top accolade in their respective categories; DP360 Pack of Salted Butter and DP362 Pack of Unsalted Butter.
The ICDA is renowned by many as being the world’s largest cheese and dairy awards, which showcases over 5,500 dairy products each year from the globe’s very best dairy producers. This is the latest achievement in Castle Dairies’ established portfolio, having collectively received the joint highest number of Great Taste awards in the UK butter category last year amongst three of their products, and being shortlisted finalists for Food Producer of the Year at this years Wales Food & Drink Awards in Llandudno.
Speaking about the award wins, Marketing Executive, Jake Stacey said: “We have two great products in our Salted Welsh and Unsalted Welsh block butters. To receive recognition from established judges representing the dairy industry, and particularly for a body as reputable as the ICDA, is testament to what Castle Dairies stands for: high quality, great tasting Welsh produce”.
At a time of inflationary pressure, our brand has done incredibly well to gain new listings. Back in April, we expanded our distribution across the border at Lidl, with entry into c.80 stores across the North West and North Wales with our Welsh Spreadable. The hope is that we can continue this momentum into the second half of the year with even more widespread success.
