Our Work With The Huggard Centre
As a business, one of our chosen charities that we support is the Huggard – Helping the Homeless. We chose this charity earlier last year as their mission means a lot to us and we want to help support their work helping with the homeless and the vulnerable.
The Huggard centre are Wales’s leading centre for people who’re sleeping rough and their Day Centre and Hostel are open every DAY of the year.
For more than 30 years, anyone seeking help and refuge from the streets has gone to The Huggard Centre for food, and a safe, warm place to stay. They do remarkable work and focus on giving people who are homeless and vulnerable the support they need to rebuild their lives – to have a future again.
Last year we supported The Huggard by helping them buy new essential equipment that they were in need of. This included replacing their old defibrillators with new ones, along with new seating for the day centre.
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. This high energy shock is called defibrillation, and it’s an essential part in trying to save the life of someone who’s in cardiac arrest.
We stay in touch and up to date with how the Huggard are working and getting on. During this difficult and uncertain time, the Huggard centre, their clients and their staff need our help more than ever. We will be working closely to help support the Huggard during this time, and we would like your help too!
With other businesses unable to support the centre as much as they previously could or would like – it’s important that we come together to support their work.
Their intervention centre is continuing to stay open for people with nowhere else to go. At a scary time like this, lives would be at risk if the centre was to close.
