NHS Staff Meals – Thank You Paul Brown!

Posted on 28th May 2020

During these uncertain and unusual times, we think it’s important to stay positive… and what better way to do that than sharing some good news stories!

We think it’s really important to share stories of people’s acts of kindness and good deeds that have come out amidst the pandemic, to inspire us, give us hope and remind us of how much good there is in the world. We have certainly heard many negative stories since the coronavirus, however there is always a silver lining, and the pandemic has brought out the best in a lot of people.

One story which has caught our eye is the work of food blogger Paul Brown. Paul has been going the extra mile since lockdown started to help healthcare professionals get through these stressful and tiring times by spending his time making free delicious meals for the NHS staff.

We asked Paul why he decided to start making meals for NHS staff and his response was, ‘’I just had a thought… what can I do to help, I can cook? I’m good at getting things for free and I’m good at social media, if I put all of those together, what can I do for the NHS? My goal is to cook the best food for the NHS staff for free.’’

Paul has made and delivered an astonishing 2,000 free meals to NHS staff so far. Some of his delicious meals have included Asian sticky tuna and rice, Thai basil chilli pork and noodles, Mediterranean vegetable ragu, tuna madras curry, salmon pasta bake and many more!

A lot of these delicious meals are made with donated produce from local food producers, some of which include The Cornish Sea Salt Co., Ginger pig, Campbell brothers, John Shephard and lots more including ourselves. Without the help of donations, these meals wouldn’t be possible. If you are a food producer like us and can help or donate any ingredients/ spare food, please get in touch with Paul or ourselves!

We would like to say a massive thank you to Paul! You have certainly brought a smile to the faces of our healthcare heroes. Your hard work amazes us, and we love watching your daily videos! To see more of Paul’s work and videos, visit @paulbrown_uk
